Dr. Kathy Duford

Veterinarian/Owner: Dr. Kathy Duford graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She has practiced and made her home in the Myrtle Beach area since 1996 and opened Waterway Animal Hospital in July 2006.

Linda Shetler

Office Manager/Co-owner: Linda "Pert" Shetler graduated from Goshen College, with a B.A. in Education, 1972; received a Master’s Degree in Education from Indiana University, 1978. Pert grew up on a farm, taught school for 23 years, and now enjoys the daily challenges of managing Waterway Animal Hospital.

Dr. Kathy and Pert enjoy going to the beach and pontooning on the waterway. They love their two pugs, Charlie Brown and Lucy, and their four cats…Tigger, Gigi, Zuzu, and Mango. In their free time, they like to spend time with friends and family, go on travel adventures, and take walks with their dogs.

Aoife Egan

Head Technician: Aoife Egan has been a technician for 12 years and has been with Waterway Animal Hospital since its inception in 2006. She was born in Dublin, Ireland and her family immigrated to the United States in 1996. She enjoys horseback riding, jetskiing, and walking her dogs; Phoenix, an Australian Shepherd, and Bandy, a Lab mix. She also has four cats: Binky, George, Murphy, and Peaches.

Joyce Duford

Receptionist: Joyce Duford, who just happens to be Dr. Kathy’s mother, is our main receptionist. She grew up in Michigan and worked many years as a receptionist in a dental office. She and her husband, John, came to the Carolinas for their retirement. They have two dogs, Buster and Dolly, both Shih Tzus. You’ll find them both snoozing under her desk in the front lobby.

Dina Fantegrossi

Technician: Dina Fantegrossi joined our team in December 2008. She has had experience as a technician for 9 years and completed a B.S. Degree in Biology. Her hobbies include playing Trivia, and taking care of her 14-year old "special needs" Shih Tzu, Brandy, who accompanies her to work everyday. Away from work she enjoys "Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain."

Melanie Rogers

Receptionist/Vet Assistant: Melanie Rogers Melanie Rogers is our most recent addition to Waterway Animal Hospital. She is currently taking online classes through Penn Foster College to become a licensed technician. Her hobbies include reading and relaxing on the beach and playing with her cats; Izzy, Roxi, and Brody. Her past includes competitive dancing in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Tap….look out TV “Dancing with the Stars,” here she comes!

Sam's Club Rep/Errand Specialist: John Duford, John Duford, who just happens to be Dr. Kathy’s father, makes routine trips to buy supplies and shop for specials in the area to keep our business running smoothly. He is retired from Michigan Electric Company and enjoys golf and watching sports on TV.
