Dr. Kevin Smith, DVM

Dr Kevin grew up in the upstate of South Carolina. His hometown, Gaffney, is famous for its peach water tower and high school football. During his childhood, he was interested in all things related to science, especially astronomy, aeronautics, and biology.

After high school, Dr. Kevin attended Clemson University. He graduated with a degree in Biological Science, with honors, in 1998. At Clemson, Dr. Kevin was a member of the University Choral program and also took voice lessons.

Upon graduation, Dr. Kevin practiced veterinary medicine in Marion, SC from 2005-2009. He then started doing relief veterinary work, mostly in the Grand Stand and Pee Dee regions. In 2019 he took a full time associate position in Conway, SC.

Dr. Kevin joined our Waterway team August, 2021. He is delighted to have found such an amazing place to work. His professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry and internal medicine.

He is married to Dr. Meg Sykes, also a veterinarian. They have two children, 3 dogs,2 cats and a lot of succulents. He is passionate about music and loves going to concerts with his wife. He is also a video gamer, reader, Lego builder, and a walker/jogger. Dr.Meg and Dr. Kevin are huge fans of the Clemson Tigers and have attended many games.
